Volunteers Needed

Thank you for showing an interest in becoming a volunteer with the Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association.

Students volunteering for the HCBA can have their hours credited towards their SSGD requirements.  Please see the volunteer coordinator to make sure you get proper credit.

On this page you will find a description of some of the volunteer roles we need filled for the upcoming season.

As you can see, even as little as two and a half hours a week can make a BIG difference, so if you see a position you might be interested in, please contact our volunteer coordinator unless otherwise noted in the posting.

Popcorn Distributors (2)

Two people to help bag and distribute popcorn on Tuesday nights for approx one and a half hours starting at 6:30 pm.  Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested.

Stingers Tournament Helpers (Many)

The Stingers tournament returns this year after a small hiatus and we are in need of volunteers of all types for this event which will be held on July 16th 2011.  If you can help us make this day a big success by donating a little or a lot of your time, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.  All day or just a  part, there’s a lot to do and some fun to share along the way; come join us.

Do you have what it takes to be a HCBA web correspondant?

We’re looking for a few good men, er people, young and old, to help us share the action with all our friends, fans, sponsors, family and teammates right here every week.

Administrative Assistant to Volunteer Coordinator

- without volunteers we are not able to do what we do and recruiting and coordinating all of our volunteers is a lot of work. We need to people to help with the huge load of paperwork involved in getting all our volunteers ready and on the field for the first games. Speak to Amanda Moore if you are interested.

Database Administrator

- anyone who has experience working with databases or programming to assist in bringing the various functions and activities of the HCBA into the electronic age.

Umpires, Coaches

- you can give something back to the game you love with as little as two hours a week as an umpire or coach.

Special Events Assistants

- we can always use an extra hand on those days we stage special events including Opening Day, Year End, Halloween and Christmas, either on the day for just a few hours or as part of the crew who puts the whole thing together.

Groundskeepers

- a team of volunteers is needed for Monday and Tuesday nights to spend some time grooming the diamonds before the teams take to the fields at 6:30 pm.
